Jim Cheney posted on Uncovering New York.com , “It’s truly amazing how many fantastic waterfalls there are in this part of the state. Whether you are looking for waterfalls that require long hikes or prefer roadside falls, there’s a bit of something for everyone to experience with these Finger Lakes waterfalls“.

They are all beautiful. One of my favorites, close by, is Taughannock Falls – actually taller than Niagara Falls. It can be easily enjoyed at the Trumansburg observation area and visitor’s center or by taking great walk into the gorge by way of route 89. What a great way to spend a day – explore the falls in the am and visit wineries in the pm.
