We are both originally from Brooklyn, NY. Tony has lived in the Finger Lakes Region for over 40 years.
Tony’s last name Del Plato translates to “of the plate” reflecting his career centered around his love for the preparation of wholesome foods. He is a retired chef from Moosewood Restaurant in Ithaca, NY. Tony contributed to five of the Moosewood Restaurant cookbooks and remains a shareholder.
Gina, following her heart, found her way to the Finger Lakes more recently. A former Health Educator, Gina believes that good food and pleasant surroundings play a role in our well being. Healthy personal care products, the use of organic towels, wholesome cleaning products and the attention to room details reflects her commitment to wellness. Both Tony and Gina are also advocates of using fresh, healthy local foods.
We have two sweet indoor cats. Remi was abandoned and came to us by way of a wonderful cat rescue woman from Lansing. A real purr bucket and thriving along with a newer addition, his playmate, Bella. They look similar in markings. Both cats do not have access to guest rooms.
We are both of Italian descent and share a love of our Italian culture. Our room names for the B & B reflect our love of the Italian language and the sentiments we live our lives and wish for all others – Buon Amore’ Good Love – Buona Fortuna Good Fortune – Buon Amici Good Friend. If we were to add a second name to our B & B, it would be “Casa D’Amici – House of Friends.”
We invite you to visit A Stone’s Throw and the Amazing Finger Lakes!
